Celebi is available to catch in Pokemon Go if you have the time and patience to complete the Ripple in Time quest.
This includes completing 8 steps in total, although some Trainers are finding it hard to get past the first stages.
This is down to a new Celebi quest bug, which is keeping many from progressing past step two.
Players are reporting problems with the catching Pokémon for three days in a row objective.
According to those posting online, their game is not tracking the Pokemon caught past day one of the task.
This includes Trainers catching a Pokémon, seeing their streak indicator lights up, only to find no progress has been made in the quest.
Workarounds have been posted by fans, some of which suspect that egg hatching has something to do with the bug.
Other workarounds include catching Pokemon in the evening, as the Celebi quest might be sticking to a certain time zone for its quest steps.
Others believe that you shouldn’t use a Pokemon Go Plus device, although Niantic themselves have yet to confirm what is going on.
Hopefully, a fix will be launched later today to help remove this annoying obstacle from the game.
Another Celebi special research task that has stumped a few solo players is that of adding Friends to their game.
This is another step two task that is slowing people down, as not everyone has access to other Pokemon Go players.
Trainers who are struggling can head over to the Pokemon Go trading subreddit and ask to become a member.
There’s plenty of people which take trading seriously and will probably be very happy to add a few new faces to their friend codes list.
Here’s what Professor Willow has to say about those tricky step two objectives, with a message in-game explaining: “Wow, you and your Pokémon have some amazing power! But according to my most recent data, it seems that the Mythical Pokémon I’m tracking only appears in times of peace.
“Also, from what I’ve gathered, it seems fond of forests and lush greens. Would you mind exploring this further, Trainer?”
Completing this stage in the Ripple in Time quest will provide you with unique step two rewards, including 1x Sun Stones, 1500 Stardust and one Premium Raid Pass.
Fans should also note that other Johto bonuses and rewards are available during the Celebi event.
