Twilight 10th Anniversary: What happened to Renesmee child star? LOOK at her now

She played a vampire child who was destined to fall in love with the werewolf who had been in love with her mother.

The storyline of Renesmee Cullen was a complicated and troubling one, not least for that name.

The movies, like the books, were a cultural phenomenon and the tenth anniversary of the first film will be marked by a return to the big screen on October 21 and 23.

Child star and model Mackenzie Foy made a few small but high profile appearances after her debut in the blockbuster saga, but is about to headline her first major Hollywood movie.

Foy most famously played Renesmee Cullen in 2012’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, and is briefly credited for 2011’s Part 1.

She followed that with an acclaimed performance as Matthew McConaughey’s daughter, Murph, in Christopher Nolan’s epic sci-fi mind-bender Interstellar in 2014.

However, rather than maximise on her early stardom, the young actress has taken her time since then, concentrating on her studies and only taking a couple of voice roles and TV spots.

Until now.

Still only 17, Foy is about to headline the upcoming Nutcracker movie, The Nutcracker and the Four Realms.

Lasse Hallstrom’s big budget family movie stars Hollywood heavyweights Keira Knightley, Helen Mirren and Morgan Freeman.

Foy plays the iconic central character Clara who is transported into a magical land where she discovers she has an incredible new destiny.

Foyw as cast in July 2016 and filming was wrapped in January 2017. However, in December 2017 Disney scheduled extensive reshoots.

The new movie is based on the original source material, The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.

German author E. T. A. Hoffmann’s 1816 novel was famously the inspiration for an Alexandre Dumas adaptation which was then translated onto stage to become the classic 1892 ballet, The Nutcracker, by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky and choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov.

The Nutcracker and the Four Realms is out in the UK and US on November 2
