Fortnite update 5.3 early patch notes and server downtime news

Tuesday is the time we usually see a new Fortnite update drop on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mobile and Nintendo Switch.

However, this week, Epic Games has decided to do things a little differently.

It has now been confirmed that Fortnite update 5.3 will be released, alongside patch notes, on Thursday.

And this move is also set to disrupt the launch of the new Fortnite Challenges, which are being pushed back until Friday, August 24.

However, while the timing will be different, it seems certain that most of the other details will be the same.

vCard QR Code

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

You can still expect the new update to land in the morning, probably at 9am, BST.

This will likely mean players being booted from games 20 minutes before server downtime begins.

And maintenance is expected, as this week’s Fortnite update is likely to be more than a simple content patch.

One of those was released last week and didn’t include a lot of bugfixes, or new gameplay balancing.

When it comes to the patch notes, you can expect those to be shared when downtime begins on Thursday.

It looks like there will be some changes for the Pump Shotgun, which have already seen a number of buffs and nerfs over the previous months.

Design Lead Eric Williamson hinted on Twitter that plans were afoot for the weapon, tweeting: “Regarding shotgun equip times: current thinking is to reduce Pump Shotgun equip time slightly in update 5.30 next week.

“Other shotguns will remain unchanged for now.”

Other changes are also going to be included, with some new bugfixes already primed.

Fans can also expect a lot of new skins to be revealed by data miners, as this is usually the time that new outfits are added to the game.

These will probably be skins that will be sold in the item shop, and won’t be part of the current battle pass.

The only exception to this could be the new Road Trip skin, which is likely to be launched next week by Epic Games.

There are also rumours that a new LTM will be released at some point called ‘Velocity’.

Not much is known about this new mode, but it appears that players will be able to redeploy Gliders when falling from large heights.

It’s also expected that extra Impulse Grenades, Bounce Pads and ATKs will be spawned throughout the map.

The biggest change in gameplay will be that the storm will reportedly move twice as fast, making for even quicker encounters.

Right now in Fortnite season 5 there is a countdown running showing how much time is left for fans to play through the current Battle Pass.

At the moment the countdown in the Battle Pass says that Fortnite season 5 will have an end date of Monday, September 17 2018.

With past season crossovers, the brand new Battle Pass began the day after the final day of the previous Fortnite season.

So that could mean that Fortnite season 6 will have a release date of Tuesday, September 18 2018.

Alternatively, if Fortnite season 6 gets delayed like previous season updates, then it could launch on Thursday, September 20.

And as the Fortnite season 6 launch draws near the first big event leading up to it looks to have been all but confirmed.

New suggests that the in-game rifts will be closing up permanently soon in Fortnite Battle Royale.

An update released over the weekend has seen the rift which first appeared after the Fortnite season 4 rocket launch begin to close.

Small sections have vanished each day and will have disappeared altogether later this week.

What happens once the rift closes is anybody’s guess, but it wouldn’t be a surprise for Epic to start dropping Fortnite season 6 clues soon afterwards.
