Pokemon Go A Ripple in Time Celebi quest guide for special research

With a little help from the internet, fans are finding out the best way to complete the new Pokemon Go A Ripple in Time quest.

The new Special Research tasks went live at around 9pm today and are the way everyone can catch the Mythical Celebi Pocket Monster.

While could have completed the whole thing in less than an hour, there’s still plenty Trainers can know while trying to complete the new challenge.

The new Ripple in Time quest appears to be split into 8 parts, with various bonuses and encounters thrown in.

Each part of the task comes with a mission statement from Professor Willow, as well as the objectives you need to complete.

“Trainer, you’ve been such a help in conducting Field Research and Special Research! I have a feeling that there’s so much more about this world that we’ve yet to discover, and I’m glad I can count on you to see it through,” the first message reads.

“I’ve been doing some experiments of my own, and I suspect that I’m onto a further exciting discovery about another Mythical Pokémon that’s rarely seen. Would you mind completing these tasks while I conclude my studies.”

The first step in the new special research for Celebi includes these objectives: Power up Pokemon 5 times, Battle in a Gym 2 times, Battle in a raid.

The rewards for completing this stage in the Celebi quest includes: 10x Pokeball, 1x Charge ™ and 1x Super Incubator.

Not bad for the first step!

Objectives for step two might slow down Trainers a bit before they can complete it: Make three new friends, Evolve an evolved GRASS-type Pokemon, And Catch a Pokemon 3 days in a row.

It will be worth completing for the rewards, which have been confirmed as: 1500 Stardust, 1x Sun Stone and 1x Premium Raid pass.

That’s currently all the rewards we know so far for the Ripple in time quest, although we do know what the next objectives are, some of which are listed below:

Objectives for step three: Use a Sun Stone to evolve Gloom or Sunkern and Use items to evolve Pokemon.

Objectives for step four are all about Eevees: Evolve Eevee into Espeon during the day, Walk 10 km with Eevee as your buddy to earn Candy and earn a Gold Johto medal.

Objectives for step five: Evolve Eevee into Umbreon at night.

The mission statement from Prof Willow for the Objective six: “Trainer, I have some exciting news! That funny feeling hasn’t returned, but I did some important reading and learned that the Mythical Pokémon we’re researching has the ability to travel across time! Maybe that’s why all of this is occurring…or recurring… Maybe this Pokémon is nearby?!

“I suggest that you collect samples over the course of the next week and experiment with some Evolution items to see whether that feeling occurs again.

“While you’re at it, do you have any Pinap Berries? My research could benefit from more data on their use. Return with that, and you can have these exotic Silver Pinap Berries.”

Objectives for step six: Use Pinap Berries while catching Pokémon.

Objectives for step seven appear to be the catalyst for Celebi to appear, so after completing these tasks you may unlock the mythical encounter.

Objectives for step seven: Catch Grass- or Psychic-type Pokémon and evolve an evolved Grass-type Pokémon.

Step eight objectives have not been confirmed by data miners yet, but here’s the final mission statement from Willow, who explains: “Trainer, what an amazing experience! The appearance of the Mythical Pokémon Celebi is thought to be a sign that a bright and shining future awaits us.

“You’ve come a long way in your research, and I must say you’re inspiring me to discover even more Pokémon. Until next time, Trainer!”

More news on the Pokemon Go Celebi quest is set to be shared over the coming days are more players complete it, or datamine the latest update for answers.
