UFC News: Conor McGregor has super-fight shot down
UFC president Dana White has dismissed the notion of Georges St-Pierre fighting the winner of Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregor.
“That’s probably not going to happen,” White said during a media scrum after the latest instalment of Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender. “He gave up the 170-pound belt.
“He gave up 185-pound belt, you know what I mean? It’s like no, pick a division.”
McGregor and Nurmagomedov will lock horns with one another in the main event of UFC 229, which takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on October 6.
UFC News – Dana White discusses Nick Newell’s future
White has seemingly closed the door on Nick Newell ever fighting in the UFC.
“I respect that kid very much,” White told MMA Junkie. “Obviously that’s why I gave him an opportunity.
“I always believed that the UFC was a tough place for Nick. This a tough place with two arms and two legs.
“This is the real deal. I put him in the Contender Series to see if he could make it to the UFC. He didn’t make it.”
UFC News – TJ Dillashaw takes aim at Gervonta Davis
UFC men’s bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw has continued his war of words with boxer Gervonta Davis.
“Come on over then,” Dillashaw said in response to a tweet from Davis saying he’ll ‘whip his a**.’
“Ask daddy (Floyd) Mayweather for permission and come sign a one fight contract then.
“Actually, no need for a one fight contract, just sign a one round contract. That’s all I need.”
