Sarah Ferguson reveals true feelings about Prince Andrew and being a royal bride

Sarah Ferguson married the Queen’s son Prince Andrew in 1986, after a whirlwind romance.

The couple seemed madly in love, grinning from ear-to-ear as they embraced each other on the famous balcony of Buckingham Palace.

Despite the Duke and Duchess of York parting ways in 1996, they still remain extremely close, even living together at the Royal Lodge in Windsor.

In a recently resurfaced interview, Fergie reveals what she actually felt on her wedding day, reminiscing about her feelings towards Prince Andrew and being a royal bride.

Talking to Piers Morgan, Sarah described the feeling on her big day as “mesmeric”, saying: “You are taken with such a wave of energy, that it is just mesmeric, it is just extraordinary.”

Gushing even more, she continued: “And you’re so in love — anyway, it’s your wedding day.

“Like every bride’s wedding day, it’s a special day. And you’ve got a beautiful dress on. But you’re standing there with the man you love.

“And then there are people out there who are wishing you so well. And it’s just extraordinary.

“It’s just unfathomable. You can’t explain it. And when I went up that aisle, I had – I married my man.”

The interview took place in 2011, 25 years after the couple’s big day at Westminster Abbey.

Sarah and Andrew’s romance lasted almost 10 years, with the couple divorcing in 1996.

It is reported that the couple’s marriage problems started in 1991, just one year after the birth of their second daughter, Princess Eugenie, 28.

Prince Andrew had a successful navy career going, meaning the two would go for months without seeing each other, reportedly 40 days a year in the first five years of their marriage.

However, the marriage truly broke down when Fergie was photographed with her toes in the mouth of Texan financial advisor John Bryan while wearing a bikini and lounging in the sun.

Despite their public divorce, the former couple remains very close, with Sarah recently revealing that they still see each other as family.
