UFC news: Conor McGregor vs Khabib claim, Nate Diaz’s bombshell, Cruz fires back at TJ

UFC News – Conor McGregor’s training partner predicts Khabib Nurmagomedov fight

Dillon Danis is confident Conor McGregor will win his UFC 229 grudge match with Khabib Nurmagomedov.

”Chad Mendes is a better wrestler than Khabib,” Danis said on Ariel Helwani’s ESPN MMA Show when discussing Nurmagomedov’s grappling.

“What credentials does Khabib have in wrestling? Maybe in sambo. Chad Mendes was second in NCAA.”

Danis then cited Michael Johnson’s ability to tag Nurmagomedov in their UFC 205 bout, saying: “Michael Johnson caught Khabib. Michael Johnson is not at the level that Conor is.”

UFC News – Dominick Cruz slams TJ Dillashaw’s GOAT claim

Former two-time men’s bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz has laughed off TJ Dillashaw’s claim that he’s the best 135lbs fighter of all time.

”I’m still right there, very relevant regardless of the multiple injuries I’ve had over my career,” Cruz told ESPN’s Ariel Helwani. “I think everybody in the world knows I’m very relevant and probably the only guy in the world who would beat him in the division.”

He added: “Right now T.J. Dillashaw is speaking what he chooses to make relevant, which is trying to make his case as the best bantamweight.

“The problem is, I beat him already. You can’t be the best unless you beat the guy that beat you. It’s common sense, everyone in the world knows that including him.

“Let’s be honest: He does not want to deal with that right now, he would rather wait and see if he can get away from it.”
