Overwatch Summer Games 2018 COUNTDOWN: New skins, start time, event dates, Lucioball, more

fans are counting down to the start of the 2018 Summer Games event.

The Summer Games event makes its PS4, Xbox One and PC debut on August 9.

And if it’s anything like previous Overwatch events, it should launch alongside a major update at 6pm UK time.

The event will run for three weeks until the end of August.

The most exciting part of any new Overwatch event is the release of new skins.

Perhaps to pre-empt the inevitable leaks, Blizzard has been revealing Summer Games 2018 skins early.

It all began with a look at Waveracer D.Va, followed by Gridironhardt Reinhardt and then Catcher Winston.

More recently, Blizzard unveiled a brand new Lacrosse-themed Roadhog skin. You can see all the new Summer Games skins below.

A brand new Summer Games event also means the return of Lucioball.

Blizzard has also confirmed that Lucioball will make its return alongside a brand new arena set in Busan, South Korea.

The Rocket League-inspired game mode tasks players with scoring the most goals before the timer runs out.

Last year even saw the introduction of Copa Lucioball, which is a ranked version with fresh rewards.

The news comes as Blizzard and Hasbro team up to release a new Overwatch-themed Nerf gun.

Unveiled at ChinaJoy in Shanghai, the upcoming entry in the Nerf Rival range is a replica of D.Va’s Light Gun.

According to Polygon, the Nerf gun has a three-round capacity, fires at 80 feet per second, comes with a spring-action mechanism and sports D.Va’s bunny charm.

Reaper fans will also be able to pick up a Nerf version of his Wight-skinned Hellfire shotgun.
