Fans want more Luke Skywalker.
Whether they are happy with Episode 8 or part of the vocal backlash furious with Rian Johnson and Kathleen Kennedy’s vision, everybody wants to see Luke back in the final movie.
It is, after all, the grand climax to the Skywalker saga, which has spanned five decades at the cinema, nine movies and numerous books, comicbooks and animated television episodes.
So it is good news that Hamill will be back in his Jedi robes for new scenes.
After Hamill posted pictures of a new clean-shaven look many feared he had moved on from the franchise after his character’s controversial death.

Star Wars commentator Mike Zeroh said: “All three cast members will be filming this September. The shoot will last three days at Pinewood. The set will have many green screens. Which could tell us this is how they will make Mark Hamill into Force Ghost.
“There are two sets being constructed right now. This may well indicate that Luke will appear as a Force ghost to Kylo Ren and Rey separately. This could mean that he is filming with Adam Driver on one set and with Daisy Ridley on the other set.”
But what are the actual scenes?

Previous Star Wars 9 concept art reports described Leia and Han Solo disembarking from a spaceship with their son. This almost certainly sounds like the moment Ben Solo was left in Luke’s care at his Jedi academy.
Will Hamill and Driver be filming further scenes showing how the Luke and Ben relationship was destroyed? Or will Luke be shown as a ghost trying to turn Kylo back from the Dark Side?
Similarly, the Daisy Ridley scenes could be flashbacks to Luke training Rey, which seems rather redundant. Or it could be Luke’s ghost trying to help his young almost-apprentice master her owers ad face her destiny.
