Ant-Man and the Wasp: Is Ant-Man out in the UK yet?

Fans in the UK, rejoice – Ant-Man and the Wasp has finally landed on this side of the Atlantic.

The Ant-Man sequel was out in the US on July 6 but fans in the UK had to wait almost a month for the movie to arrive.

Is Ant-Man out in the UK yet?

Yes!

After a failed petition to get Marvel to move the release date in the UK up to match the USA’s, fans were resigned to waiting.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: DID YOU SPOT STAN LEE? WAS STAN LEE IN ANT-MAN?

Having to stay off twitter for a little more than three weeks was tough, and surely would have negative impacts on box office turnout.

The UK’s delay could mean fans who would have turned out in droves to see the Ant-Man sequel were spoiled by posts on Twitter and, as a result, would decide to stay at home.

Marvel was worried Ant-Man and the Wasp’s release date would conflict with the FIFA World Cup.

With a heavy dose of irony, the FIFA World Cup final did not include England, though the petition didn’t seem to mind who was playing the final.

The online read: “You can watch the World Cup and watch a movie as well.”

Football wasn’t the only reason, however.

The UK belated date also took into consideration the July 13 debut of Pixar’s Incredibles 2, and the release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom on June 22.

Had Ant-Man and The Wasp come out on July 6 in the UK, it would have been in direct competition with both these blockbusters.

Though Marvel didn’t adhere to this petitions wishes, it has been known to change release dates.

ANT-MAN AND THE WASP RELEASE: WHY ISN’T ANT-MAN AND THE WASP OUT IN UK

The studio moved the release date of Avengers: Infinity War, which helped contain spoilers and lead to the biggest global opening of all time.

So far, Ant-Man and the Wasp has an overall rating of 87 percent on the aggregating website Rotten Tomatoes.

Owen Gleiberman at Variety wrote the Ant-Man sequel was: “Faster, funnier, and more cunningly confident than the original.”

Finally, fans in the UK have a chance to experience this fast, funny, and cunningly confident movie for themselves.

Ant-Man and the Wasp is in cinemas now.
