Avengers 4: Did Marvel just let a HUGE spoiler slip about Thanos and time travel?

Avengers fans have been preoccupied since the closing scenes of Infinity War with how their favourite heroes will be resurrected.

The main theory being bandied about has to do with time travel, sparked by the addition of Captain Marvel into the MCU and Ant-Man’s ability to travel in the Quantum Realm.

So despite time travel being the main theory of resurrection of the heroes, other fans have begun to think time travel may extend beyond just the heroes.

Did Marvel just let a HUGE spoiler slip about Thanos and time travel?

Fans who pay close attention to Marvel tidbits outside the movies think the answer to this is yet.

AVENGERS 4: WHAT DOES ‘DEFINITIVE ENDING’ MEAN FOR IRON MAN AND CAP?

A new image reveals Thanos’ time travelling abilities, but an in-depth knowledge of the MCU is needed to see how.

Pete Thompson, Marvel concept artist, released the image titled “Titan Thanos farm” which shows the closing bucolic scene from the end of the film.

In the aftermath of destroying half of life on earth, the image showed Thanos’ back on his home planet.

The scene shows a planet green and lush, while in reality, the present timeline’s Titan is a dry and barren landscape.

AVENGERS 4 SPOILERS: COULD END GAME MEAN DEATH OF DOCTOR STRANGE?

However, fans will remember a conversation between Thanos and Doctor Strange which adds a deeper meaning to this image.

The Infinity War scene went like this:

Thanos said: “[Titan] was beautiful. Titan was like most planets; too many mouths, not enough to go around. And when we faced extinction, I offered a solution.”

To which Doctor Strange said: “Genocide.”

Thanos disagreed, saying: “At random. Dispassionate, fair; rich and poor alike. They called me a madman. And what I predicted came to pass.”

AVENGERS INFINITY WAR: WHEN IS AVENGERS OUT ON DVD AND BLU-RAY?

Titan, once a green and blue world of burgeoning life was burnt, turned orange and brown.

The broken remains of Titan society are scattered on its surface, replacing a beautiful planet with the remanents of a destroyed society.

However, Thanos’ planet at the end of Infinity War had returned to this grassy, pastoral landscape.

Fans think Thanos travelled forward in time, mirroring the ending of the Infinity Countdown Marvel comic book series.

Though the Marvel Cinematic Universe doesn’t strictly follow the comics, the amount of crossover means fans are hopeful they have some clues for the future of Thanos.

Avengers 4 is in UK cinemas on Friday, April 26, 2019.
