With Disney’s acquisition of Fox, fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have begun to speculate about potential crossovers.
The purchase of Fox has been in the works for a while, so fans have had plenty of time to revisit Infinity War for any clues that might lead to details of the upcoming Avengers 4.
One theory fans have taken up has to do with a single song used in Avengers: Infinity War and a group of heroes whose Fox movie outing was a flop.
Will the Fantastic Four be in the next Avengers movie?
There is no definitive answer, but fans have cited a small detail in the Infinity War soundtrack which could point to the answer being yes.

The song in question is Rubberband Man by The Spinners, which was used for the Guardians of the Galaxy’s entrance in Infinity War.
Initially, the theory had to nothing to do with the Fantastic Four, but instead a clever play on Thanos’ snap and the song in question.
Reddit user Hockeytalkie wrote: “Obviously, as the one and only song with lyrics in the entire movie, “The Rubberband Man” must have been carefully selected.
“There must be some meaning to it.

“I’ve seen a few analyses of the lyrics attempting to derive meaning from every single line of the song, but I really don’t think it goes any further than the title and the title-line: Hey, y’all, prepare yourself for The Rubberband Man.”
“What do rubberbands do? They snap.”
“Thanos is The Rubberband Man. Prepare yourself, y”all.”
However, quickly following this, another Reddit user wrote: “Rubberband Man is also a nickname the Thing has for Reed Richards.”

Reed Richards is the real name of Mr Fantastic, whose superpower is extreme superhuman elasticity.
A clever Reddit user, Cedira, wrote: “omg fantastic 4shadowing”
While the first theory feels more plausible, the second one is certainly giving fans plenty of things to think about.
And, who knows, maybe the song choice is a fan theory which kills two birds with one stone, making a link to Thanos and the Fantastic Four in one go.
