Fortnite Summer Skirmish Week 3 COUNTDOWN: Race to the Crown rules, Twitch stream

Fortnite Summer Skirmish continues this week, as even more players compete for big prizes in Battle Royale.

The Week 3 Summer Skirmish event kicks off at 11pm UK time, and will be broadcast live on Twitch.

Epic Games has recently confirmed that the Summer Skirmish Week 3 format is called Race to the Crown.

The victors will be the first Duos team to reach 13 points in Battle Royale.

“The first Duos team to reach 13 points is the winner,” Epic explains. “Victory Royales and Eliminations in this competition will be scored to determine placement at the end of the event.

“The top 20 teams at the end of the Summer Skirmish will be awarded.”

Victory Royales are worth four points, while five eliminations or more are worth two points.

As with previous weeks, Epic will dish out bonus cash for teams with the most eliminations.

For week 3, teams with the most eliminations will be rewarded with $6,500 per match.

As for prize money, Friday’s winners will receive $60,000, while the runners up will get $48,000.

Third place receive $40,000, fourth get $36,000 and fifth place earn $32,000.

The news comes just days after Fortnite celebrates its first birthday.

And to celebrate the anniversary, Epic Games has released a fresh set of Fortnite birthday challenges.

The Fortnite Birthday Challenges can be accessed from the same menu as the weekly, Road Trip and Drift challenges.

Challenges include playing a certain number of games, dealing damage to opponents and dancing at different birthday cakes.

Fans will be gifted with 5,000 XP for playing 14 matches, a Happy Birthday spray by dancing at ten cakes, and a birthday emoticon for dealing 1,000 damage to opponents.

Completing all three challenges unlocks the commemorative Birthday Cake Back Bling gift.
