Charlie’s Angels cast REVEALED includes Disney princess and Twilight star: Release date

Surely we only just had a Charlie’s Angels reboot?

The Drew Barrymore, Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu movies seem fresh in the memory, but the second one, Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle, actually came out 15 years ago.

This time around a female director is creating an entire new world for teh classic stories, with numerous trios of secret agents around the world.

Elizabeth Bank’s 2019 version will focus on one threesome, though, featuring these actresses.

Trade bible The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed all the details about the new movie.

The new Charlie’s Angels project has been lined up for a September 2019 release date.

As was previously rumoured, Kristen Stewart is the rather unexpected main draw. After her star-making turn in the four Twilight vampire movies and the first Snow White reboot, she distanced herself from blockbuster fodder, but appears ready to re-enter the mainstream after a string of arthouse and indie movies.

The other two Angels will be played by up and coming stars.

The first will be much more famous by the time Angels is released. Naomi Scott will play Jasmine in the April 2019 live action version of Aladdin, directed by Guy Ritchie.

Young British star Ella Balinska, however, has only previously appeared in episodes on Midsummer Murders and A Winter’s Tale.

Banks had great success with her directorial debut on Pitch Perfect 2.

The actress will also star as Boseley, Charlie’s iconic intermediary with the Angels’, as well as producing and co-writing the movie.

Banks said: “Charlie’s Angels, for me, is one of the original brands to celebrate the empowered woman since its debut in the ’70s. This film honors the legacy of Charles Townsend and his agency while introducing a new era of modern and global Angels.

“I couldn’t be more excited to work with Kristen, Naomi and Ella to bring this chapter to fans around the world.”

CHARLIE’S ANGELS IS OUT ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2019
