There’s not long to wait until Samsung reveals its all-new Galaxy Note 9.
This phablet will get its grand unveiling in New York on August 9 at the Korean firm’s Unpacked event and it seems there could be one big new upgrade.
Samsung has just released a video on YouTube which suggests its new phablet will include a much better battery life.
The 30-second clip, which was uploaded earlier today, shows an older device that can’t keep up with the daily demands consumers put on it.
With the phone finally running flat a message appears which says “Battery can’t keep up? A lot can change in day.”
Rumours have been rife that Samsung is boosting the size of the battery in the Note 9 and this YouTube tease may now confirm that is true.
It was originally thought that Samsung would squeeze a much bigger 3,850 mAh battery inside the Note 9’s glass and metal shell but new leaks have revealed something even larger is coming.
Ice Universe claims that Samsung is taking its battery tech a step further by placing a giant 4,000mAh power pack inside.
If true, it will make the Note 9 one of the most powerful devices on the market and could also help owners get much more life out of a single charge.
The current Note 8 only features a 3,300mAh battery so this is a pretty big upgrade over last year’s device.
Along with extended battery life, there are also plenty of other new features inbound on this phone.
Fans should expect to see a phablet that’s faster and has an improved rear camera which should shoot improved pictures in low light.
New colours are also likely with a recent leak allegedly showing the new device arriving in black, blue and pink colours.
The black and blue versions are accompanied by a golden S Pen in some of the photos.
This appears to line up with Samsung’s earlier tease that showed the accessory in the new colour.
Samsung appears to have answered its critics by moving the fingerprint scanner to an improved position with it now sitting just below the camera rather than alongside it.
