But now she’s set to star opposite Cruise in Top Gun 2: Maverick.
According to the Hollywood Reporter Connelly is already in early talks for the film’s female lead.
But who exactly will she be playing in the sequel that’s over thirty years in the making?
Kilmer wrote on his official Facebook page: “I’m officially in the sequel to TOPGUN.”
“I’m so looking forward to working with Tom, Joe and Jerry, all such unique pros.”
His announcement follows a previous confirmation back in June.
The Wrap reported “an individual with knowledge of the production” has confirmed the former Batman star is in Top Gun 2.
They claim: “A rep for Paramount declined to comment on the casting of Kilmer, who has been spotted around the San Diego hotel the studio has been using since production began last week.”
