Fortnite Summer Skirmish returns later today, as more players compete for cash prizes.
Week 2 of Fortnite’s Summer Skirmish event kicked off on Friday, July 21.
Streamer iDroPz_BoDiEs won Friday’s event, scoring the most points and racking up the most kills.
Week 2 continues later today (July 22) at 6pm UK time. You can follow the action by tuning in to the Fortnite Twitch channel.
Lasting for eight weeks, the Summer Skirmish event features different rules each week.
This week’s event challenges players to score the most points after ten matches.
“The player with the highest score after ten Solo matches will be named the winner,” reads an Epic post. “Victory Royales and Eliminations in this competition will be scored to determine placement at the end of the event.”

The top 20 players will win cash prizes, starting $60,000 for the winner, and $6,000 for the player in 20th.
Victory Royales are worth five points, while single eliminations score one point. Players who rack up more than 20 kills in a single match earn a bonus ten points and $10,000 in prize money.
When the competition ends, the player with the most kills in a single game will walk away with a bonus $50,000.
The Fortnite developer will pay out $8 million in prize money over the course of the eight week competition.
Unfortunately, the Summer Skirmish event is an invitation-only affair, so only the best of the best get to take part.

“Since the launch of Fortnite Battle Royale we’ve watched the passion for community competition grow and can’t wait to empower you to battle with the best.
“In the 2018 – 2019 season, Epic Games will provide $100,000,000 to fund prize pools for Fortnite competitions.
“We’re getting behind competitive play in a big way, but our approach will be different – we plan to be more inclusive, and focused on the joy of playing and watching the game.”
