
Woods got off to a tricky start as he bogeyed two of the first three holes to put himself two-over for the week.
But it was during the second hole where he fired a drive into the rough, which landed awkwardly on the side of a mound.
The American tried to hack himself back onto the grass but was worried about slicing a shot into the bystanders.
“I kept moving them back. If you noticed, I moved them back about 40 yards,” Woods said.
“I was trying to play for the grass to wrap the shaft around there and hit it left, and I was just trying to hold the face open as much as I possibly could.

Tournament organisers eventually pushed the watching brief away from danger so Woods could continue his play.
The former world No 1 failed to close the gap on leader Kevin Kisner during his second rounds as he hit a second consecutive par 71.
Although he trails the frontrunner by seven shots, Woods should still make the cut, but his chances of challenging for the title look slim.
“I got off to not exactly the best start, two over after three, but I got it back,” he added.
“The golf course was a little bit softer today and we were able to get the ball down a bit further, control the ball a bit easier.
“There were certainly birdies to be had out there.”
“I played a bit better yesterday. Today wasn’t quite as good but I did make a birdie on a par five, so that’s a positive.
“It’ll be a pretty packed leaderboard and I’m figuring right there in it.”
