Chelsea transfer news: Blues could benefit from Cristiano Ronaldo deal – Sky Sports man

Ronaldo joined Juventus from Real Madrid for a fee of around £105million earlier this month.

Juve are now reportedly keen on raising funds after splashing out on the Portuguese superstar.

Higuain has been linked with a move to Chelsea and Downie claims there has been contact between the two clubs.

The Argentine knows Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri well having played a season under him at Napoli two years ago, where he finished Serie A top scorer with 36.

“Will they end up benefitting from Cristiano Ronaldo’s move to Juventus?,” Downie said of Chelsea on Sky Sports News.

“Our colleagues in Italy say there has been initial contact between both Juventus and Chelsea.

“Higuain is expected to leave Juve this summer.

“Higuain played for one highly successful season under Maurizio Sarri.

“He finished as the Serie A top scorer of course.”

Higuain scored 23 goals in 50 games for Juventus in all competitions last season.

He failed to find the net in his three appearances at the World Cup for Argentina.
