Fortnite challenges DELAYED: Epic hints at NEW start time for weekly tasks

UPDATE: Fortnite downtime is over, but challenges are nowhere to be seen.

The Fortnite challenge page confirms that this week’s tasks will be available in 3-hours.

Whether this is a permanent new time remains to be seen, but today’s challenges will seemingly be available at 3pm UK time.

ORIGINAL:  fans could be facing an extra long wait for Season 5, week 2 challenges.

Fortnite developer Epic Games recently announced downtime for the morning of July 19.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

The servers were shutdown at 9am UK time, which is the same time challenges tend to go live in Battle Royale.

But even without the server shutdown, it looks like Epic Games had plans to delay the release of the week 2 challenges.

Just moments before the downtime, the week 2 challenges were listed to go live in six hours time (see the image below, which was taken at around 8.40am BST).

While Epic could be taking downtime into account, it’s possible the weekly challenges are being pushed back from 9am BST to 2-3pm BST.

It certainly wouldn’t be the first time Epic has changed the time and date of the challenges.

Season 4 weekly challenges originally landed on Tuesdays, before Epic pushed them back to Thursdays.

Express Online has contacted Epic Games for clarification about weekly challenge timings.

As part of the big Season 5 update, Epic Games has made three of the weekly challenges available for free and the other four challenges exclusive to Battle Pass users.

The challenges are separated into hard and regular tiers of difficulty.

The hard difficulty Fortnite challenges net players ten Battle Stars, while the regular tasks reward fans with five Battle Stars.

Earning Battle Stars levels up your Battle Pass, which is how you unlock all of the rewards on offer.

Season 5 also features bonus challenges that will net players specific items. The Road Trip challenges are similar to Blockbuster challenges from Season 4.

The Road Trip tier rewards players with special loading screens for fully completing all weekly challenges. These loading screens feature hidden Battle Star clues.

Drift Challenges, meanwhile, reward players with new costume pieces for earning XP. Earning enough XP to complete four out of five tiers unlocks a special Harvesting Tool.
