Alisson is currently on the way to England for a medical after Liverpool and Roma reached an agreement on a £66.8million transfer.
The deal will make the Brazil international the most expensive goalkeeper in history and he will replace Loris Karius as Liverpool’s first choice shot-stopper.
And according to the Liverpool Echo, the origins of the move may have stemmed from Liverpool and Roma’s Champions League semi-final last season.
According to their report, Alisson was “blown away” by the atmosphere at Anfield.
Alisson conceded five goals to Liverpool but his difficult night has clearly not put him off moving to the Premier League.

The 25-year-old’s move now puts Karius’ future in doubt and Liverpool legend Graeme Souness says his former club had to replace the German after his errors in the Champions League final.
“I think as much as Jurgen would have wanted to be loyal and do right by the goalkeeper, he’s got to go out and get another one,” he told Sky Sports.
“That’s simply because if Karius was to make the same mistake, or a mistake in a big game, it’d be down to the manager not correcting that situation.
“It’s obvious to everyone – look at what happened in the Champions League final.
“So if Klopp is out to get Alisson or another top goalkeeper, he’s doing the right thing.”
