PUBG DOWN: Servers not working as update 17 launches on Xbox One

Downtime has been confirmed for today, meaning PUBG servers will be offline for an extended period of time.

Microsoft and Bluehole Inc. have revealed that scheduled maintenance will begin at 9am, BST, and last around two hours.

Following the extended downtime, fans will be able to download a new PUBG update, which sounds like it could be a big download.

“Xbox Players: Live servers will enter maintenance for 2 hours starting at July 17th 1AM PDT / July 17th 9AM CEST,” a message from the PUBG Help Twitter reads.

“Once maintenance is complete, Game Preview Update #17 will be available to play on live servers.”

If everything goes well with today’s update, the game should be available to play again at around 11am, BST.

If there is any delay in bringing the PUBG servers back online, more information will be shared on the PUBG Help Twitter page.

Today’s update includes a lot of new changes connected with how weapons work in-game.

Much of the existing PUBG arsenal is getting rebalanced, with other bugfixes also included.

Along with all the balance changes, the development team are also introducing a new weapon, a new vehicle for Miramar, and a ton of new weapon attachments.

And looking at the patch notes, it’s a certain bet that today’s update will be a large one.

Here’s more from the PUBG development team, outlining what they hope to achieve with the new patch:

“Our latest PTS patch is ready to push to live servers! Thanks to everyone who participated in the PTS testing process. The issues that we fixed were in no small part thanks to your feedback and reporting.

“We also want to thank everyone for their patience while we continue to improve performance of the game.

“Even though today’s patch is more content focused, we will continue to make game performance the best we can. As always, we are closely monitoring our community, so please continue to provide your feedback on the game.

“In an effort to improve matchmaking times, the OC and AS servers will merge to become OC/AS. The server will be located in Australia, so players in the OC region shouldn’t notice much of a change in performance.

“We’re resetting the Leaderboard with the new patch! After the reset, the new Leaderboard will need to populate new statistics of at least 1,000 players, so it may appear to not have results for a short time.”
