Melania Trump boards plane for Europe with Donald Trump – both wearing Republican red

Melania Trump, 48, boarded a flight to Europe today along with husband, US president Donald Trump.

Departing on Air Force One from Joint Base Andrews, a military base in Maryland, the couple looked serious as they boarded the flight.

The couple are on their way to Brussels for the NATO Summit.

From Brussels they will journey to London, the Trump’s first trip to the UK since Donald’s inauguration.

Representing their political party, Melania and Donald both proudly wore red – the Republican colour.

Standing proudly by her husband before their flight, Melania looked serious and composed in a jersey-style top and midi skirt ensemble.

Her bold red top had long sleeves and was tucked into her high-waisted skirt.

Embodying summer elegance, Melania looked stunning in the beige calf-length skirt.

It was tied at the waist with a large belt, accentuating the First Lady’s tiny waist.

The safari-esque skirt also featured large pocket detailing, before floating out from her hips and swaying in the Maryland summer wind.

Shielding her eyes from the sun, the 48-year-old wore a large pair of black sunglasses.

On her feet she wore a pair of sky-high cream and red patterned heels, elongating her toned legs.

She wore her caramel locks straight and down, with minimal makeup and no visible jewellery.

Her outfit complemented that of her husband’s, who also opted to wear a Republican red tie.

Addressing the press before embarking on their journey, the couple looked poised and ready for business.

The couple took helicopter Marine One to the Maryland military base, before climbing aboard Air Force One.

From Brussels the couple will travel to London for a three-day visit.

During their stay they will be treated to a lavish black tie dinner at Blenheim Palace, be hosted by Theresa May at her country house Chequers and meet the Queen at Windsor Castle.

Ahead of the trip, Melania made her last official public appearance at the White House last night.

While waiting for Donald to introduce his Supreme Court nominee, the former model wore a black and white ensemble, choosing to blend into the audience rather than stand out.
