Royal Wedding: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry reveal pictures of invitations on Twitter

Meghan Markle, 36, and Prince Harry, 33, have shared images of the invites for the Royal Wedding 2018.

Kensington Palace have announced 200 people will be invited to the evening reception at Frogmore House.

This is being hosted by Harry’s father, Prince Charles, 69, and the invites feature the Three-Feathered Badge of the Prince of Wales to reflect this.

Daytime guests will enjoy a service at St George’s Chapel and then a lunchtime reception at St George’s Hall.

The Queen, 91, is hosting the daytime celebrations before Charles takes over in the evening.

“Guests have been invited to the service at St George’s Chapel and to the lunchtime reception at St George’s Hall, which is being given by Her Majesty The Queen.

“Later that evening, around 200 guests are being invited to the reception at Frogmore House given by The Prince of Wales.”

The palace also explained the history behind the design, which follow “years of Royal tradition”.

They have been made by Barnard and Westwood, an London-based employee-owned fine printers and bookbinders. The company holds two Royal Warrants.

Kensington Palace detailed the creation of the invites, and said: “Lottie Small, who recently completed her apprenticeship, printed all of the invitations in a process known as die stamping, on a machine from the 1930s that she affectionately nicknamed Maude.

“Using American ink on English card, the invitations are printed in gold and black, then burnished to bring out the shine, and gilded around the edge.

“@BarnardWestwood have been making Royal invitations since 1985, and Managing Director Austen Kopley said he was thrilled and honoured to be making them.”

Details of the Royal Wedding have been slowly becoming public, with the baker revealed earlier this week as Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes.

The royal wedding cake will be a lemon elderflower cake decorated with fresh flowers, the Kensington Palace Twitter account has confirmed in an announcement on Tuesday.

The announcement read: “For their wedding cake Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle have chosen pastry chef Claire Ptak, owner of the London-based bakery @violetcakes.”
