‘We made mistakes’ Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg speaks out on Cambridge Analytica row

Mr Zuckerberg said Facebook made mistakes that allowed data about users to end up with the analytics firm Cambridge Analytica and said the company would make changes.

Mr Zuckerberg, in his first comments since the company disclosed on Friday the misuse of personal data, said in a post on Facebook that the company “made mistakes, there’s more to do, and we need to step up and do it.”

Releasing a statement on Facebook, Mr Zuckerberg said the company will investigate all apps that had access to large amounts of data before changes made in 2014.

He insisted the “most important actions to prevent this from happening again today we have already taken years ago.”
