Nindies Direct 2018 just announced three PERFECT games for Nintendo Switch

The Nindies Direct Event is now over and managed to live up to its billing of showcasing smaller gaming project.

Titles such as Mark of the Ninja Remastered and Bomb Chicken will certainly provide some quirkiness to the eShop.

But one of the big reveals for the Nintendo Switch games list was saved for last.

It has now been confirmed that The Banner Saga trilogy is coming to Switch.

That means both the favourably reviewed original games, as well as the next instalment in the Norse adventure.

And not only was Banner Saga 3 announced for Switch, but it was also confirmed that it would be releasing on that platform before all others.

Timing details weren’t provided, but its safe to say that the Nintendo Switch is a perfect platform for the series.

Offering some aventuring on the go with proper controls will make Banner Saga a top purchase on the Switch.

While the game will come with touch interface, it would also be nice to see some Joy-Con input options as well.

Banner Saga 3 will be launching later this year on Nintendo Switch, while both the original games have been given a “coming soon” tag.

A launch date has not yet been announced for Banner Saga 3, although developers Versus Evil have provided an outline of what will be included in the game.

“Battles in Banner Saga are turn-based, harkening back to the classic “Tactics” days of gaming. The combat is straight-forward and easy to learn, but after a few battles you’ll realize the game’s simplicity hides a vast tactical depth,” the kickstarter campaign teases.

“Build your party from a roster of over 40 unique characters, each with different abilities that interact in varying ways. Each unit has a combat style all their own, but it’s how they work together that counts and a well-chosen roster will equal more than the sum of its parts.

“The choices you make as events unfold have a huge effect on how the story plays out – who survives, who dies, and what’s worth saving. Add people to your caravan as you travel, or lose them when tough decisions arise.

“You’re not just fighting to save nameless strangers, you’re fighting for your neighbors, your family and your way of life. You’ll care what happens to them.”

The Banner Saga 3 is expected to arrive Summer 2018, although its unclear how the new deal with Nintendo will affect other platforms like, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
