James Bond 25: Danny Boyle WILL direct and you won’t believe WHO got him the job?

They have been a dream team since the 2012 London Olympics.

Ever since Danny Boyle sent Daniel Craig’s Bond into Buckingham Palace and persuaded ‘Her Majesty’ to sky-dive into the Olypic stadium, Bond fans have hoped that this moment of magic might extend to the main movies themselves.

Now Boyle has officially announced that he will helm the 25th outing for OO7.

And he has one very famous friend to thank.

Speculation has been rife for months over who would direct Daniel Craig’s final outing as the super spy, with potential candidates including Denis Villeneuve and even a returning Sam Mendes.

Boyle has long been a popular choice but seemed unlikely to do it. Howver his appointment came after a special meeting was called with Bond producer Barbara Brocolli and her partner.

An insider said: “The most important cheerleader in the meeting was Daniel, and he was pushing for Danny to direct.”

Craig has never hidden his feeling about the huge pressure of making the movies and now it seems he also had concerns that the formula was becoming stale.

The source added: “He loves the fact that it’s something completely different. He has not signed up for more of the same old Bond.

“I’d be shot if I told you the story idea they’ve come up with, but it’s pure movie gold.”

Boyle confirmed that filming would begin at the end of this year. The movie is ciurrently scheduled to be release at the end of 2019.
