‘We WON’T stand for it!’ Russia hits back at UK poisoning accusations as tensions soar

Sergei Lavrov rubbished Theresa May’s claim it was “highly likely” Russia was involved in the attack as “not robust and not serious”.

Speaking at a press conference in Moscow, he said the accusations levelled against Russia were part of a “Russophobic campaign” which his country would not allow to happen.

He also criticised the UK’s approach to the investigation, claiming Britain’s attitude towards the probe was “we know everything, you have to believe us”.

Mr Lavrov insisted Russia had “no motive” to attack Mr Skripal, who was poisoned by a Soviet-era, military-grade nerve agent in Salisbury earlier this month.
