Merkel humbled as new German ‘MASTERPLAN to kick immigrants out even faster’ revealed

Horst Seehofer, leader of the Bavarian sister party the CSU, said he is working on a “master plan” to kick rejected immigrants out of Germany at a faster rate under the new coalition government, which will be launched on Wednesday.

Mr Seehofer, a critic of Angela Merkel’s 2015 migrant policy, has vowed to “get tougher” on those who break the law in Germany or are deemed a security threat as he said repatriations and deportations must be “raised significantly”.

He told German newspaper Bild am Sonntag: “We want to remain a country that is open to the world and liberal.

“But when it comes to protecting the citizens, we need a strong state. I will take care of that.

“There has to be a consensus throughout Germany that we will no longer tolerate lawless zones.”

Mr Seehofer also pledged to introduce a “zero-tolerance” law as he revealed the grand coalition were working on a “master plan for speedier asylum procedures and consistent deportations”.

It comes after Mrs Merkel admitted German no-go zones are a “reality” in shocking comments.

The German leader confessed there are places in her nation “where people are afraid to go”.

Mrs Merkel has faced an uphill struggle to cling on to her fourth term in power after their stance on immigration saw her party lose swathes of votes to the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) at the German elections.

She welcomed more than one million refugees into Germany as part of her widely-criticised open door refugee policy.

In 2015, the EU saw a huge spike in the number of people applying for asylum as hundreds of thousands of people arrived after fleeing conflict in the Middle East and Africa.

In response to the increase, Mrs Merkel agreed to accept more than one million refugees into Germany.
