Pokemon news part of Nintendo Switch Direct games reveal tonight

UPDATE ONE: Reports of new Pokken Tournament DLC being announced have been proved false, however, there was some Pokemon news that was proved right.

Detective Pikachu was the only major piece of Pocket Monster action featured during today’s Nintendo Direct.

Detective Pikachu is available for pre-purchase on the Eshop now, and will be launching next month on the Nintendo 3DS.

ORIGINAL: Fans who are patiently counting down until tonight’s Nintendo Switch Direct event will be hoping for some big news to be revealed.

And while they are going to hear about some great new projects coming to the Nintendo Switch games list, it might not have everything they hoped for.

Recent rumours suggest that there will be Pokemon news featured tonight, however, it probably won’t contain much about the upcoming RPG.

New DLC is being planned for release this year for Pokken Tournament, reportedly arriving as early as next month.

This will include new playable Pokemon to use, something that will surely prove popular with fans.

There will also probably be more trailer action for Detective Pikachu, an upcoming launch on the Nintendo 3DS.

When it comes to Pokemon on Switch, there doesn’t seem to be any juicy rumours floating about covering its inclusion.

It’s entirely possible that something will be featured, however, there’s also a big chance we will have to wait until E3 2018 for the big news.

Whatever happens, it appears there will be a good mix of both first and third party announcements tonight.

Rumours of a few new ports have been doing the rounds, all of which will have 2018 release dates.

Activision Blizzard are said to be launching a total of three new games on the Nintendo Switch, possibly all in the next 12 months.

The sources come from all different media outlets and online rumours, but it appears that Diablo 3, Call of Duty Black Ops 4, as well as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy are all in the works.

There have been several twists and turns in the report of Diablo 3 coming to the Nintendo Switch, following the latest statement from Blizzard.

In it, they confirmed that they had nothing to announce concerning porting the game to Switch.

However, Eurogamer is now backing earlier reports that a port is indeed in the works.

Their sources were not able to confirm if the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions would be included but could reveal that Diablo 3 is going portable.

Earlier reports suggested that it would not be arriving in 2018, but would be an early release in 2019.

Other reports also suggest that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be launching in 2018.

And not only that, but it will also be the first Call of Duty game to release on Nintendo Switch.

It should be noted that neither Call of Duty or Diablo 3 announcements are expected tonight.
