Nintendo Direct 2018: March 8 start time for Nintendo Switch games REVEAL

A new streaming event is being shown tonight for fans wanting to know more about what’s coming soon.

The Nintendo Direct March 2018 event will begin at 10pm, GMT, so fans in the United States should have an easy time tuning in.

This will mean a 2pm PST start time for the Direct, and a 11pm time for those in CET.

The new event will last around 30 minutes long and contains information focused on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo 3DS games launching this year.

Fans can watch the announcement on the usual video platforms, with YouTube one of those hosting the new stream.

The Nintendo Direct March 2018 announcement only confirms that Mario Tennis Aces will be featured, along with other titles for the Switch and 3DS handhelds.

There have been plenty of potential leaks already though, with new Nintendo Switch games and ports expected to be announced.

One of the most recent has been for Mario Tennis Aces, which is apparently scheduled to release in June of this year.

Two retail leaks seem to have confirmed this for fans, ahead of the big Direct event tonight.

There are also rumours of something Super Smash related being announced, however, these come from unverified sources.

A healthy pinch of salt should be taken, with the rumour mill usually going into overdrive ahead of one of these events.

Rumours are rife that Nintendo could announce a brand new Luigi’s Mansion DLC for Super Mario Odyssey that will bring a whole new Kingdom to the game.

Luigi’s Mansion DLC will reportedly include 43 new Power Moons to collect, and arrive next month.

More reveals are also on the way, with Nintendo looking to give more information on their latest first-party games.

Pokken Tournament could be getting new DLC announced, as well as a look at the new Fire Emblem game, coming to Nintendo Switch later this year.

Nothing Pokemon RPG-related has surfaced yet, so it’s unclear if Nintendo will announce anything new for it tonight.

Fans are hoping for something like a reveal trailer, however, it’s still unclear if the new Pokemon game will be arriving in 2018.

This will be the second Nintendo Direct of this year, after a Direct Mini in January revealed nine new Switch games.

Soon after that Nintendo also held another online presentation, during which Nintendo Labo was unveiled.

Wolfenstein 2 has already been announced for launch and this would be a great time for Nintendo and Bethesda to show how the port is coming along.

Yoshi for Nintendo Switch is bound to get some screen time, and will likely have its official title confirmed too.

Detective Pikachu details should be forthcoming before the game’s 3DS launch, so expect some coverage tomorrow.

Nintendo Labo is another item that could get some screen-time, with new kits and trailers likely to be shown.

Fans are also hoping to see something for Metroid Prime 4, however, that isn’t a title coming in 2018.

With Nintendo looking to focus this Direct on games exclusively arriving this year, it seems we can rule out a new trailer being shown.
