Is The Shape of Water DILDO accurate? Is the creature BISEXUAL? Director explains all

Not many Oscar-wining movies have inspired a sex toy.

Especially, it must be added, when the main character is a towering amphibious creature with no visible genitalia.

So what does the Shape of Water dildo look like and how accurate is it really?

It has been such a sensation that the first batch already sold out but how fishy are they? The movie’s own director waded into the debate and caused quite a splash when he also revealed a shocking secret about the creature’s sexuality.

In the movie, Sally Hawkins’ mute Elisa admits she had very satisfactory sex with the mysterious creature. Since his front area is completely smooth, her friend asks how it was even possible and Elisa mimes two folds pulling back and a large organ emerging.

This is exactly what happens in many amphibious reptiles and fish.

The organ is obviously not shown in the movie but the handmade XenoCat Artifacts dildo is based on the colouring of the creature and features a rubbed, swirling surface texture.

The site features a range of sex toys inspired by science fiction creatures and nature.

In a recent interview Guiilermo del Toro was asked about it and said: “I don’t think it’s an accurate representation but, you know, so be it. What are you gonna do? It’ some form of fan art.”

He was asked if he had made his own designs for the creatures genitalia and revealed that creature would be able to have sex with a man or a woman.

The director replied: “No, but I though about it. One of the reasons is not explicit in the movie but in large swarms of fish, they switch gender if they need to… If it had been 50 years later and i had been a janitor it would maybe have switched! I waned to have that in the design in my mind. It was important for me. I didn’t do sketches, either in my notebook or the bathroom wall.”

THE SHAPE OF WATER IS OUT NOW IN CINEMAS.
