Nintendo Switch games news: THREE major announcements coming in 2018

While fans have a lot to look forward to, there’s still plenty of gaps in the current release schedule.

There’s also been a lot reports on what might be coming to the Nintendo Switch games list in the next 12 months.

Three titles stand out from the crowd as being popular with gamers, all of which are from a major third-party publisher.

Ever since the Wii U tanked, Nintendo fans have kept a close eye on how the Switch is being treated by its partners.

And if the health of the Switch is to be gauged by any new announcements, these could prove pretty telling.

It appears that Activision Blizzard could be launching a total of three new games on the Nintendo Switch, possibly all in the next 12 months.

The sources come from all different media outlets and online rumours, but it appears that Diablo 3, Call of Duty Black Ops 4, as well as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy are all in the works.

There have been several twists and turns in the report of Diablo 3 coming to the Nintendo Switch, following the latest statement from Blizzard.

In it, they confirmed that they had nothing to announce concerning porting the game to Switch.

However, Eurogamer is now backing earlier reports that a port is indeed in the works.

Their sources were not able to confirm if the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions would be included but could reveal that Diablo 3 is going portable.

Earlier reports suggested that it would not be arriving in 2018, but would be an early release in 2019.

Other reports also suggest that Call of Duty Black Ops 4 will be launching in 2018.

And not only that, but it will also be the first Call of Duty game to release on Nintendo Switch.

If proven right, this would be massive news for the hybrid console, which has seen a lot of the major releases pass it by.

Activision have dabbled in the past with releasing games on different platforms, so it wouldn’t be out of character for them trying to get the game on Switch.

There have also been reports that Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy is heading to the Nintendo Switch this year.

A European licensing manual has been published which brings with it big news for Crash Bandicoot fans.

It lists a completely new game in the Crash Bandicoot franchise being in development, due for a 2019 release.

It also says a port of the Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy is in the works for the Nintendo Switch and PCs, and is due sometime this year.

E3 2018 seems like a good place to expect a big announcement on the subject, although Activision may choose to reveal more ahead of the June expo.

A 10K form filed by Activision with the United States Securities and Exchange Commission hinted further at the possibility of new remake projects from the company.

In it, Activision reveals they are planning on releasing new remasters this year. And while it doesn’t go as far as to name Crash Bandicoot as a franchise included in that list, it does bode well for those recent reports.

Here’s the information from the 10K Form, which states: “We expect to release World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth and our latest Call of Duty game in the second half of 2018.

“In addition, we expect to deliver ongoing content for our various franchises, including expansion packs for Hearthstone and Destiny 2 , in-game events for Overwatch , and map packs for Call of Duty: WWII, as well as releases of remastered versions of titles from our library of IP.”
