Ubisoft are releasing a lot of new items in their first Year 3 content drop, which arrives very soon.
The new Rainbow Six Siege Operation Chimera update is to go live on Tuesday, March 6.
A staggered release is expected for the new content, which will likely arrive on PS4, Xbox One and PC at different times.
Ubisoft usually launch updates during the early afternoon, so expect the patch to pop up from 1pm, GMT, onward.
One of the biggest editions will be the launch of Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak, a new mode which changes things up when it comes to gameplay.
vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.
The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
As mentioned above, the Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak release date is set for March 6 too, but will only run for around a month.
The new four-week co-op event starts tomorrow and will be available to play until April 3, 2018
Ubisoft have not confirmed whether Outbreak mode will be returning for other Operations, or if they intend to make it a seasonal event.
Outbreak takes players to the sleepy desert town of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico to investigate and exterminate a dangerous extraterrestrial parasite.
The infestation has turned the local populace into an array of deadly enemies, and players must work to confront this new threat in teams of up to three Operators chosen from a select subset of the existing roster.
If it sounds pretty far removed from sieges, that’s because it is, essentially, a zombies mode for R6.
“From swarming Grunts to burrowing Rooters, the Outbreak enemies will test your tried-and-true skills in a whole new way,” Ubisoft teases.
Outbreak comes with three missions included – Junkyard, Hospital, and Resort, all of which will be free-to-play during the event.
New Operators Lion and Finka can be used, as well as the existing Smoke, Ash, Doc, Glaz, Kapkan, Tachanka, Buck, Ying, and Recruit.
As confirmed by Ubisoft, Operation Chimera introduces two new operators to the multiplayer roster, Lion and Finka, Elite members of the Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear (CBRN) Threat Unit.
While not part of the existing Siege roster, Lion and Finka represent French and Russian counter-terrorism units, respectively, as biohazard specialists.
Along with traditional, competitive Rainbow Six Siege multiplayer matches, these new Operators will see their weapons and gadgets put into action in Outbreak.
FINKA LOADOUT:
UNIQUE ABILITY: Finka’s Adrenal Surge activates pre-injected nanobots made of zinc in operators, releasing a pharmacological cocktail into their system where the zinc is absorbed as a nutrient.
These nanites give her team a short boost in HP, they help allies out of DBNO, and they steady the team’s aim. She’s the only one capable of tailoring the nanites to specific operators.
WEAPONS AND GADGETS: Breach Charge, Stun Grenades, Spear .308, SASG-12, 6P41, PMM Pistol and GSH-18.ARMOUR AND SPEED: Both rated medium.
LION LOADOUT:
UNIQUE ABILITY: Twitch provided him with an aerial drone while he served with GIGN. The EE-ONE-D helps Lion maintain quarantine by detecting movement in an area, giving an overview of hot zones or of the battlefield. His drone can stay airborne indefinitely, but he must choose the right moment to perform his scans.
