Oscars 2018 worst dressed: Celebrities flash acres of flesh on the red carpet

The Oscars are here for another year, and not only is the awards ceremony one of the most hotly anticipated, the red carpet is too.

Some of the most spectacular couture dresses are seen on a host of A List stars – but not everyone gets it right.

And despite many of the famous faces having access to stylist, hairdressers and makeup artists, there are still style disasters.

2018 looks to be no exception, with the red carpet already under way and plenty of bad taste looks on display.

Blanca Blanco, who famously was one of the few stars to ignore the all black dress code at the Golden Globes, chose a very revealing red and white dress. Slashed to the thigh, the gown also came down in a deep v neck, leaving little to the imagination.

Olympian Lyndsey Vonn, meanwhile, chose a dress more fitting for a Vegas showgirl than the Oscars red carpet. The black sequin dress featured mesh detail, net, ruffles and sheer panels, and Vonn paired this with a poorly matched ruby choker necklace.

Another celebrity determined to flash the flesh was Betty Gabriel, star of Get Out. The pattern of Gabriel’s dress was stunning, but the slashed-to-the-navel shape looked a little trashy.

Taraji P.Henson also left little to the imagination in her dress, which was slashed to the thigh and slashed at the bust, as well as being made from a sheer material.

It wasn’t all skin on show which made for bad outfits. A List actress Salma Hayek, 51, chose a bizarre lilac sequin ruffled gown which made her look like a cross between a glitterball and a loo roll cover. Salma paired her Gucci dress with severe makeup, which did her no favours, and a tied-back updo.

TV presenter Giuliana Rancic also did not look her best, choosing a pale one shouldered gown with a massive train which was more like a wedding dress than one for a red carpet event.

Emma Stone, meanwhile, caused controversy with her Louis Vuitton outfit, as the La La Land star decided not to wear a dress and opted for a trouser suit instead.

There were also plenty of style disasters over at the Vanity Fair Oscars party, widely regarded as the hottest after party of the night.

However, it hasn’t been all disasterous looks tonight, with many actors and actresses putting their best fashion foot forward. These are the best dressed on the Oscars red carpet.
