
Express.co.uk has learned that a huge last-minute surge of bets have been placed on outsider Lady Bird to win Best Picture tonight.
The category is seen as a two-horse race between The Shape of Water and Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri; with Get Out also thought to be in the mix after a win at the Independent Spirit Awards last night.
Oddschecker have said that over the last 24 hours, an almighty 47% of all Best Picture bets in the UK have been placed on Lady Bird.
George Elek said: “One interesting movement in the Oscars market is Gerwig’s Lady Bird, who is receiving a terrific amount of attention.
“Five-star reviews and an unblemished reputation among film fans seem to be pushing the outside shot closer and closer to contention with favourite The Shape of Water.
