Lionel Messi considering EXIT if Barcelona win the Champions League – huge Spanish claims

Messi has forged a reputation as one of the world’s best footballers ever during his time at the Nou Camp.

Barcelona have collected 30 trophies across that period, including the Champions League on four occasions.

They’re in with a shout of winning that competition this year with a last-16 second leg still to come against Chelsea.

The latest reports from Spain suggest Messi could bring the curtain down on his Barcelona career if he guides his team to success in Europe this year.

According to Don Balon, Messi has been discussing what his future holds with his wife, Antonella Roccuzzo.

And it is claimed that he’s admitted he might return to Argentina if Barcelona win the Champions League this season.

Messi is keen to keep his wife happy, with heading back to their homeland among her priorities.

And he has a move to hometown club Newell’s Old Boys in his sights, either in 2019 or 2020.

Don Balon indicate Messi’s decision could be impacted if Argentina do not win the World Cup though.

The 30-year-old knows how desperate Argentine fans are for him to lead his team to glory on that stage.

And he could apparently delay his return to his homeland if Argentina suffer heartache in Russia this summer.

Messi and co. are due to face Croatia, Iceland and Nigeria in the group stage of the World Cup.
