The victory lifts Diego Simeone’s side to within four points of league leaders Barcelona and 10 points above Real Madrid, in third.
However, Atletico come face-to-face with the Catalan club on Sunday (3.15pm) in a bid to close to gap further – and a win may provide some title hope to Real – whose players insist they have not given up the chase.
“I am happy with my performance but, as I always say, the three most important things are the points, now, to Barcelona to do something beautiful,” Griezmann said.
“I have to enjoy myself, I try to give people joy, I could have made a mistake but I think that in the field I was not wrong.
“I could have made mistakes in what I could say or in keeping the fans quiet.
“I could be wrong in what I could say or in hushing the fans. Now we are enjoying and hopefully have affection until the end.”
Meanwhile, the clash may also be an audition for a potential summer switch to the Nou Camp.
Barcelona have been tracking the forward for some time and in January they were forced to release a statement claiming that they were not submitting a bid.
But in the summer things could change as Ernesto Valverde looks to strengthen his squad.
