Sea of Thieves BETA: Play new PC and Xbox One games release TODAY

Another weekend, another stress test from Rare and Microsoft.

A new Sea of Thieves beta is currently ongoing and will be available for another day at least.

There have been quite a few of these over the past, with Rare looking to solve traffic issues before the game’s release in April.

For those who were hoping for a open beta, that hasn’t arrived yet.

This latest Stress Test is another just open to Xbox Insider members and those that have pre ordered the game.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.

The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.

“The Scale Test is open to Xbox Insiders and those who had access to the Closed Beta,” a message from Rare explains.

“If you are an Xbox Insider and want to take part, you can navigate to the Insider Hub on your dash, and install the Sea of Thieves Scale Test build.”

As with before, PC and Xbox One gamers can enjoy the new beta, which is set to last until tomorrow.

The new Sea of Thieves release will end on Sunday February 25th at 10am GMT (2am PST).

That means interested players still have time to join in on the action.

However, it should be noted that Rare and Microsoft are not offering any new content, so a lot of it will be what you saw last time.

This will also mean that certain problems will happen when you try and playing, including Sessions being interrupted and not being able to enter certain games.

“The goal of this is to test the latest services work we have done, and try and hit a higher number of concurrent players than we’ve ever seen before,” Rare adds/

“With this added scale we expect – and plan – to see issues, that we can learn from and address.

“Not only are we looking to hit scale, we will also purposefully be stressing our services by throttling performance at certain times, testing the game in different data centres around the world, and simulating deliberate outages.”

Content will be restricted to the Gold Hoarders trading company and accompanying Voyages, although another beta is being planned that will include more content.

This won’t be held until closer to launch and will hopefully be an open beta that will put those servers through their paces.

Speaking about what happened with the last beta, executive product Joe Neate thanked fans for their help with the ongoing trials.

“The response to the Closed Beta was humbling, where we saw increasing numbers of players every single day and saw more players log in than we’ve ever seen before,” he wrote.

“Due to the amount of people who turned up to play, we learned so much about our services and capabilities.

“Some of these we could address on the fly, some of them we could attribute to plans we already had to do before launch, and some identified completely new areas to work on, so these have been added to our list to address for launch.

“If there were times where you couldn’t start the game, or sell items at outposts, this was where the biggest bottleneck of data was seen, and it’s where our areas of focus are now.”
