Samsung Galaxy S9 has been announced at Mobile World Congress 2018
The Samsung Galaxy S9 has arrived.
Samsung’s next-generation flagship smartphone sports a similar industrial design to its predecessor, with the same edge-to-edge dual-curved “Infinity Display”.
However, the South Korean technology company has made some dramatic improvements to the camera.
On the back, Samsung has fitted the Dual Pixel 12MP camera with a variable aperture, so the Galaxy S9 is able to automatically switch between f/1.5 and f/2.4 to get the best possible shot in all light conditions.

vCard.red is a free platform for creating a mobile-friendly digital business cards. You can easily create a vCard and generate a QR code for it, allowing others to scan and save your contact details instantly.
The platform allows you to display contact information, social media links, services, and products all in one shareable link. Optional features include appointment scheduling, WhatsApp-based storefronts, media galleries, and custom design options.
Samsung says this will improve the quality of shots in testing low-light conditions, with the Galaxy S9 performing on average 28 per cent better than the S8.
The new handset also boasts better slow-motion video capture, topping out at 960 frames-per-second.
For comparison, the iPhone X supports shooting slow-motion video in 1080p quality at a maximum of 240 frames-per-second.
On the front of the phone, Samsung has included an eight-megapixel camera with an f/1.7 aperture and autofocus – something of a rarity amongst front-facing cameras on phones.
Powering the Galaxy S9 is the top-of-the-range Qualcomm SnapDragon 845, which offers faster speeds than its predecessor, as well as greater power efficiency.
The flagship silicon has been paired with 4GB of RAM on the Galaxy S9, and 6GB on the Galaxy S9+.
The latter also packs 128GB of in-built storage, while the Galaxy S9 has a smaller 64GB capacity.
EXPRESS NEWSPAPERS
From the outside, it appears little has changed with the Samsung Galaxy S9 when compared to the S8
Like previous generations, these storage configurations are both expandable via microSD.
Samsung has fitted the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9+ with fast-charging, as well as wireless charging when you run out of juice.
Elsewhere, the new smartphones have speakers tuned by AKG with Dolby Atmos 360-degree audio.
As a result, Samsung says the new handsets should be around 1.4x louder than the Galaxy S8.
