Winter Olympics 2018: India Sherrett CRASHES hard in women’s ski cross – video

The Canadian had made a strong start to her race but lost balance following one jump where she tried to get back up on two skis.

However, Sherrett was unable to readjust her body to get in position for the following jump where she flung into the air before landing hard on her back.

Medics immediately rushed to her aid and there was clearly some concern as they took their time escorting her off the track.

There was positive signs from Sherrett as she was pictured being mobile but had to be carefully taken off the course on a stretcher to receive further treatment.

Sherrett wasn’t the only skier to crash out of her heat with reigning champion Marielle Thompson also taking a tumble in the opening round.

There was good fortune for Great Britain as well from the Canadian’s fall with Emily Sarsfield coming through second to advance to the quarter-finals.

The ski cross is often regarded as one of the most competitive events at the Winter Olympics and one that can often spring up a few surprises.

That’s due to the four racers being in such close quarters with the slightest error potentially ending their run.
