
Michael Travers, 69, claimed Lane approached him as he returned to his room at 1am from the bar of his hotel in the Lumphini district.
Lane allegedly barged in and overpowered him, binding his hands and stealing several items including a watch thought to be worth £4,500.
Mr Travers was forced to disclose the PIN number to his bank card and to drink a liquid that made him fall asleep, it is alleged.
He claims to have woken up just before 4am before being able to free himself.
He is then alleged to have raised the alarm to staff at the hotel’s reception desk.

He reportedly maintains his innocence.
Police have said that he is suspected of carrying out several other similar robberies.
