Officers and school officials have confirmed the gunman was a former student at the school, with the local sheriff claiming he is possibly 18-years-old.
He was arrested without incident roughly a mile away from the site of the horrific Valentine’s Day massacre at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland.
Now people who claim they knew the alleged attacker say he was banned from carrying a bag on the school campus.
Speaking to the Miami Herald, maths teacher Jim Gard said: “We were told last year that he wasn’t allowed on campus with a backpack on him.
“There were problems with him last year threatening students, and I guess he was asked to leave campus.”
