Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi digital and Blu-ray release dates LEAKED – and it’s SOON

The Last Jedi is just finishing its triumphant run at the global box office.

Rian Johnson’s revisionist take on the Star Wars mythos pleased critics and divided fans but still pulled in an impressive $1.3billion worldwide. This is far short of The Force Awakens’ $2billion but anticipation will be sky-high for the home entertainment release.

Especially since Johnson has already started to reveal tantalising details about the deleted scenes fans can expect to see.

A recent iTunes post prematurely revealing the digital download release date for Episode 8 was swiftly taken down, but has already spread like wildfire across social media.

US site StarWarsNewsNet has posted the information.

The New Zealand iTunes site accidentally announced that the Last Jedi digital release date will be March 14.

Star Wars movies have traditionally released the physical versions one to two weeks later and a customer service exchange with US chain Target confirmed the US date for the Blu-ray and DVD release.

StarWarsNewsNet messaged Target asking for an estimated release date and was told the Blu-ray would be out on March 27.

The deleted scenes are reported to show a critical extended moment between Luke and Rey when he tricks her into thinking a terrible attack is happening on Ahch-To, just to test her response. Some might feel they would have preferred to see this instead of the infamous alien milking scene, for starters.

Mark Hamill has also hinted at a deleted scene featuring Luke and Laura Dern’s Vice-Admiral Holdo.
