Fortnite COUNTDOWN – Valentine’s Day event arriving with patch V.2.5.0 on PS4 and Xbox One

fans are getting ready for patch V.2.5.0, which brings with it the Valentine’s Day event for Battle Royale and Save The World.

The Valentine’s Day event will offer themed skins for Fortnite Battle Royale as well as the new Cupid’s crossbow weapon.

While Save The World players will be getting a special Valentine’s Day quest entitled A Love Story.

The Fortnite Valentine’s Day event is coming with patch V.2.5.0, which is set to be released on Wednesday February 14 2018.

A release time for the Fortnite patch hasn’t been announced by Epic Games, neither has it been revealed whether there will be server downtime.

Detailing the update in a blog post last week, the Fortnite team said: “Valentine’s day is coming and Fortnite is getting in the spirit. Feeling lovey-dovey?

“Then grab yourself Valentine’s Day themed skins in Battle Royale. Gunpowder, not your thing? The new Crossbow allows you to hunt your prey the old-fashioned way.

“Eliminate your targets with stealth and finesse with this new addition. Need more love? For our Save the World fans, our new Valentines themed quest starts.”

Fortnite patch V.2.5.0 will also put the SMG into the ‘vault’, meaning the weapon will be rotating out of Battle Royale.

Explaining the decision on Reddit, Epic Games said: “As we add more weapons, consumables, and other item types we want to make sure that the balance of itemization isn’t ruined.

“Expect more items to be released (and likewise vaulted!) in the future. And of course, items will often come back out of the Vault when the timing is right.”

Epic Games previously gave a brief outline of what to expect from Fortnite patch V.2.5.0.

Here is what will be in the Fortnite update:

FORTNITE PATCH V.2.5.0

• Valentine’s Event

• Special Valentine’s questline – A Love Story, told the Fortnite way

• Valentines-themed Heroes

• Cupid Crossbow

• New reactive quest type

• Opt-In Difficulty increase for greater challenge and rewards

Full patch notes for Fortnite patch V.2.5.0 should be published by Epic Games soon.

In other Fortnite news, Epic Games revealed they will be bringing FIVE limited time modes to Fortnite Battle Royale in the next month.

They also revealed that Fortnite will be getting a ‘floor is lava’ limited time mode (LTM).

Epic Games said: “We’ve been hammering away at Limited Time Modes! Getting you multiple playlists (solo, duo and squads) during LTMs is at the top of the priority stack.

“We’ve been using multiple data points (including your feedback) to iterate our existing LTM’s and to build brand new LTM’s.

“We are planning to quickly spin up a dozen or so LTMs, some of these may be more straightforward (e.g. along the lines of Sniper Shootout, Sneaky Silencer etc.).

“We also use LTMs to test new Shooting Models.”
