Nadal yesterday posted a video on his official @Nadal page yesterday which was filmed in collaboration with Movistar.
It boasts facts including ‘every time Rafa bounces the ball, 1,157,000 emails are sent around the world’ and ‘during Nadal’s serve, there are 40,000 searches on Google’.
Alongside the video Nadal wrote: “It’s amazing everything that goes on on the Internet while I play tennis! #MovistarLikesRafa.”
The response to the video has been huge as diehard fans rush to send loving messages to their hero.
And it has all got a bit too friendly as fans beg to touch Nadal while others declare their undying love.
“So happy to hear he sees all the love from his Rafans & all the posts& tweets & instagram we put on here millions of love comments! I really do believe we have a lot to do with his confidence and play even though he is amazing,” wrote one.
Another said: “You are a STAR Rafa….the supernova of Stars! Simply the Best. We are privileged to be witnesses to your genius and sportsmanship.”
One overly-friendly user posted: “Your my favorite and only watch your game 100%. Wish, someday I can watch you in real and be able to hug or even just shake hands.”
Including a love heart in their reply, another said: “Can watch you all day long Rafa you are simply the best player ever X.”
While a fellow fan simply replied: “Tennis porn.”
Nadal is currently recovering from a leg injury with ended his Australian Open dream.
The Spaniard now faces a race against time to be fit for his next scheduled tournament in Acapulco on February 26, which if he does not play will see Roger Federer elevated back to world No 1.
But Nadal is confident of returning in time with the help of Dr Angel Cotorro.
“We have seen more times than I would have liked in difficult situations but we have also experienced great moments, I know I am in the best hands,” Nadal said.
