Nintendo Switch games shock: New Pokemon RPG news confirms 2018 release date?

It would be massive news if Nintendo were able to confirm such a big launch for later this year.

The Nintendo Switch games list for 2018 already has some interesting new projects confirmed.

But nothing would be able to contend with something like a new Pokemon game for the Switch.

Some analysts have even backed such a release as being able to help Nintendo reach highers sales with such news.

It’s fair to say that titles such as Zelda Breath of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey were able to conjure something like the same effect in 2017.

There have been numerous suggesting that the new Pokemon project could be releasing this year, or in early 2019.

And it appears that another new leak may also back up this idea.

A release schedule for Nintendo in 2018 is currently doing the rounds, and has the new Pokemon game launching this year, or later.

While it isn’t a sold launch date, it would still suggest that something could happen by the end of the year.

This new information apparently comes from a Nintendo quarterly report, although there have been other reports that the company are aiming for late 2018.

Stemming from a report sourced in China, it appears that Pokemon on Nintendo Switch could be arriving in December 2018, or early 2019.

If Nintendo can squeak out the new Pokemon RPG on Switch in 2018, it would definitely prove a huge boon to the console.

New trademarks have also been found that apparently point to Nintendo and Game Freak calling their next Pocket Monster adventure – Pokemon 1 and Pokemon 0.

These listings apparently came with some kind of new art design, although it seems unlikely that they will remain part of the final game.

As you might expect, a lot of fans are sceptical that Nintendo would be trademarking with so much still unknown about the RPG project.

Nintendo CEO Tatsumi Kimishima went on record earlier this year to say that selling 20 million Switchs in the next fiscal year is possible.

Speaking on the subject, as well as the Nintendo Switch’s current successes, Kimishima told Kyoto Shimbun: “It was a bigger hit than we were hoping.

“The unique ability to play it as a home console, but also bring it out with you, was a hit feature.”

Nintendo are looking to boost digital content sales, which will include a new “abundance of digital content” to bolster the Switch’s lifespan.

And if Nintendo really are hoping to sell such a large amount in the console’s second fiscal year, it would back the recent rumours that the new Pokemon RPG could be arriving near the end of 2018.

Unfortunately, most of all this is just estimates and speculation, meaning fans will have to wait and see if a new Direct event pops up in the months to come.

There are currently no indications on what could be included in the next Pokemon adventure, although fans are expecting to see the introduction Generation 8.
