Nintendo Switch games 2018: New exclusive release for character not seen since Wii U?

While the Nintendo Switch games 2018 list has got some top titles included in it, fans are always hopeful of seeing additions made.

It’s a more imperative job for Nintendo, as they are already trying to catch up with both the PS4 and Xbox One.

So far, it seems like the Switch games list has held up to closer fan scrutiny, with Nintendo’s strategy of releasing major titles every few months in 2017, paying off.

However, when it comes to the Nintendo Switch in 2018, fans are hoping for a more ramped up service.

They’ll be expecting new games to be announced, with E3 2018 one of the likely venues for such news.

These won’t be titles arriving this year, but will nonetheless help build hype around the company’s best-selling console.

And the latest rumour suggests that a brand new outing for the one of Nintendo’s most popular stars could be revealed.

Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was recently announced as being ported over from the Wii U to the Nintendo Switch.

It will include the usual upgrades and will help bring Donkey Kong to the Switch.

However, there’s talk of a new Donkey Kong adventure in the works, the first game for the great ape since the 2014 release of Tropical Freeze.

There reports are based on sources from the internet, so they need to be taken with a big pinch of salt.

One user on ResetEra claims to have talked with Donky Kong composer David Wise, who is apparently working with Nintendo on a new project.

“I spoke to David a few months ago and he said he was in Texas working for Nintendo,” the user explains.

“So unless Retro are doing a new IP with David Wise music, he’s doing DK.”

Another composer spoke of working with Retro Studios back in May 2017, with Deus Ex composer Alexander Brandon revealing on Facebook: “I’m currently working with Retro Studios here in Austin.

“As much as I’d like to say more (except the work is incredibly exciting and the team is awesome), I can’t.”

As mentioned above, it’s hard to say whether this could be a new project being put together by Nintendo, or something already part of an existing development.

It would make sense that they might ask back the original compose of Tropical Freeze to help with whatever is being put together for Tropical Freeze.

Fans will have to wait and see if a few more Donkey Kong-related announcements will be revealed in the coming months.

It should also be noted that niether Wise or Brandon have made any official announcements that they are working on new Donkey King projects for Nintendo.
