Gianluigi Donnarumma to Liverpool: Jurgen Klopp backed to complete ‘realistic’ deal

That is the view of ESPN FC pundit and former West Ham goalkeeper Shaka Hislop.

Liverpool’s goalkeepers have come under criticism for their performances this season.

Simon Mignolet has been the regular Premier League stopper, whereas Loris Karius has featured in the majority of cup matches.

However, manager Jurgen Klopp has continuously rotated the duo and Karius has started the last two league games.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Roma and Brazil goalkeeper Alisson in this window.

But Hislop believes Donnarumma would be a better option and reckons the Italian is a realistic target.

“Realistically, (they should go after) Donnarumma,” Hislop said.

“I don’t think Liverpool have the right goalkeeper on their books right now.

“As much as they chop and they change, until they go after a talent like Donnarumma, I think they’re going to continue having these issues.”

Donnarumma, 18, has already made 90 Serie A appearances for AC Milan.

He has four caps for his country.
