West Ham transfer news revealed: Insider reveals deals that will – and won’t – be done

The transfer window closes at Wednesday at 11pm and West Ham have only signed Joao Mario so far.

Twitter user @ExWHUemployee – more often referred to as Ex – is a reliable source of news having called a number of transfers before they’d happened over the summer.

And now he has given the lowdown on what the club may do in the final days of the window.

West Ham have had made a £15million bid for Tom Cairney but @ExWHUemployee doesn’t expect it to go through.

He wrote: “Difficult to comment without creating another twitter storm/barrage of abuse but for example we wanted Cairney of Fulham.

“Apparently they want £40m-I was told that price by Fulham representatives not West Ham. Bottom line is we need to get some players in either way!”

Graziano Pelle is one name in the frame but that deal also looks unlikely. When asked if it was happened, Ex wrote: “Nope he wants £250k a week.”

Daniel Sturridge and Michy Batshuayi have also been mooted as possibilities as both are out of favour at Liverpool and Chelsea respectively.

SAKHO DEAL DONE

Hours after @ExWHUemployees’ tweet, Diafra Sakho’s move from West Ham to Rennes was confirmed.

The 28-year-old striker has been with the London club for three and a half years after signing from Metz in the summer of 2014, but the Senegal international will now return to France in a £9million deal.

He had been linked with a departure from West Ham last summer but he spent transfer deadline day at Chelmsford racecourse, where one of his representatives had a runner – the Siege of Boston – in the 3.20.

His agent Mark McKay revealed on August 31 that a few off-field issues needed to be resolved before any transfer could take place.

No move materialised in the summer but Sakho, who scored 24 goals in 71 appearances for the Hammers, has now left the London Stadium.
